Diane Nakamura, former Rotarian of the Nechako Rotary Club, provided an interesting program on The Association Advocating for Women and Children in Prince George to the Club this morning.  Diane dubbed the presentation as an great opportunity to come back and interact with her friends in Rotary.

Diane was one of the people that originated this AWAC program in Prince George back in 1994 and is now the Director of AWAC in Prince George.

AWAC is a very active and strong support group for women and children in Prince George that are experiencing problems and require both shelter and support counseling to assist them with dealing with the problems.

The program is considered a success story in the community with many of these troubled people having the ability to resolve their issues and becoming capable of finding their own means to provide shelter and become active people in the community again.

AWAC is one of many programs made available within the community to help reach out to people in need.

Diane was thanked for her presentation by Rotarian Lisa Redpath, with another donation to our Polio Plus Program.
