2011 World Baseball Challenge "Kids Training Camp"

The "Kid's Training Camp" is a reality again this year, in conjunction with the 2011 World Baseball Challenge (WBC) as a result of the Nechako Rotary Clubs' donation of $2500.00 to help fund this worth while baseball camp in Prince George for about 100 of our youth in the community.

The Three Rotary Clubs jointed funded the camp in 2009, but this year the Nechako Rotary Club is the sole Rotary Sponsor along with the Toronto Blue Jays, that are providing the Professional Coaches that will be providing the hands on training for the kid's during the July 4th to 6th Camp.

Six Rotarians are required for each of the three days to assist with the camp by registering the kid's, overseeing the training and assisting where required, ensuring the kids are fed and taken care of during the camp, ensuring the kids are all safely picked up by their families and assisting with general tidiness of the ball grounds.

Shawn Rice, Promotions Director for the WBC attended the Nechako Rotary Club Breakfast Meeting to receive the Cheque for $2500.00 sponsorship.  Shawn indicated without this sponsorship, the Kid's Camp would not likely have occurred this year.
