New Generations Committee

The New Generations Committee will focus on the following goals for 2012/13:

  1. Sponsor EarlyAct - FirstKnight at West Ward Elementary School.
  2. Sponsor and fund a subscription of The Rotarian for a Rotaract Club at Central Texas College.

  3. Sponsor a Rotaract Club at Central Texas College.

  4. Sponsor two participants in a Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) event.
  5. Sponsor a literacy project at an Adopted School
  6. Conduct book drive to benefit literacy libraries.

The following sub-committees are available for service:

  1. Early Act First Knight:   Provide support to West Ward EAFK, attend monthly ceremonies and encourage other club members to attend (via Clubrunner and meeting announcements), provide support and guidance to the EAFK club on service projects.


  2. Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA): Attend coordinator training (usually in November), disseminate recruiting information to KISD and other youth organizations, coordinate with other Killeen Clubs and serve on joint selection committee, submit all paperwork to RYLA Administrator for campers and stay in touch with campers, drive (or arrange someone to drive) campers to and from RYLA (usually 1st week in July)and coordinate club volunteers to serve a meal at camp. Work with programs chair and campers to arrange a club presentation after the camp.


  3. Rotary Youth Exchange : Assist in recruiting potential youth exchange students, and recruit Rotarians who are willing to host students from other countries.
