Trauma Followed by RecoveryOur meeting will focus around Arjan Erkel and Ferry Zandvliet, both from Rotterdam and who separately suffered amazing traumas. Arjan and Ferry combined forces and are now inspiring people through the power of the internet during this ongoing corona crisis.
About Ferry ZandvlietMy name is Ferry Zandvliet and I am from Rotterdam in The Netherlands. I am an ex physiotherapist and now a fulltime motivation speaker. I travel all over the world to share my story. It is a dream come true.
On Friday the 13th of November 2015 I was with three friends at the Bataclan venue in Paris during the famous terrorist attack where 89 people were killed and over 300 got injured. Me and my friends managed to escape this horror without physical injuries but our lives were never the same.
The horror we’ve seen is hard to describe and this ordeal has left a scar on my soul but I have never been as happy as I am today.
“Why?” you might ask.
| Looking death in the eye made me realize what is important in life: enjoy life to the fullest, anger and fear are wasted emotions and just try to be nice. You will receive what you give!
In my presentation I would like to take you along this life changing journey of mine. You don’t have to survive a terrorist attack to understand the life lesson I’ve learned. And how am I dealing with the corona crisis?

About Arjan ErkelFor almost two years Arjan Erkel, Rotterdam, 1970 was kidnapped by masked Islamic rebels in Dagestan, Russia. It was a nightmare he never expected to live through, but once he was in the middle of it he learned how to cope with his new circumstances.
His unique story about survival, his quest for freedom and his powerful recovery is still inspiring. For 15 years, through speaking, workshops, and coaching Arjan inspired thousands of people with his message about freedom and taking ownership of your own life.
Next to that Arjan is also a Co-Founder of Free a Girl. A foundation that is dedicated to freeing young girls from forced prostitution. Since 2008 they have freed and given a second chance to more than 4,750 girls globally.
