Speaker: Jean Sini
Jean Sini is General Partner at Partech. He joined in May 2019 and is based in San Francisco. He has over 20 years of experience in various executive technologies and product roles at both large and start-up software companies. Most recently, he was CTO for Cadre. Previously, he was CTO and CPO at One Kings Lane, where he drove technical and product strategy, and oversaw 60-strong engineering, design, and product teams. Prior to this, Jean was Vice President of Engineering at personal finance management startup Mint, acquired by Intuit for $175m in 2010. Before that, he worked within the engineering teams at Symbol Technology, a division of Motorola, and started his career as a software engineer at Oracle in San Francisco. Jean has also been a serial entrepreneur; he co-founded and successfully sold two start-ups: he was co-founder and CTO at Fountain, a company which was acquired by Porch in October 2015, and was CTO and co-founder at Activeweave, acquired by Twelvefold Media in April 2008. Since 2012, Jean has been investing in and advising early-stage technology startups, including Treasure Data, sold to ARM in 2018 for over $600m, Canva, currently valued at over $2.5b, People.ai, Grove Financial, ProdPerfect, Antheia, among others. Jean holds an MSc in Computer Science from Telecom ParisTech and a DEA in Computer Science from Université Pierre et Marie Curie in ParisJean is an avid kiteboarder and snowboarder.

Understanding your Brain's Health

 
Speaker: Olivier Oullier, Ph.D
Olivier Oullier, Ph.D., is the President of EMOTIV, the global leader in personalized neuroinformatics. He is the former Head of Strategy in Global Health and Healthcare and Member of the Executive Committee of the World Economic Forum who named him a Young Global Leader. Olivier is a Full Professor of Behavioral and Brain Sciences at Aix-Marseille University and taught at the Universities of Oxford and Geneva's executive education programs. His lab and applied research focus on consumer behavior, engagement, influence, social coordination dynamics, decision neuroscience. He writes for The National (weekly column "Brain Matters"), Fortune Magazine (column entitled "This is your brain on business"), and The Wall Street (expert on healthcare and consumer behavior). From 2009 to 2012, he was the director of the Neuroscience and Public Policy Program at the French Prime Minister's Center for Strategic Analyses. A former expert at the European Commission's DG SANCO, he currently sits on France's Parliamentary Office for Science and Technology (OPECST) and High Council for Strategic Education and Research (CSFRS). He has (co-)authored more than 250 scientific, medical, business, and mainstream publications including "The Science of Engagement (2012), "The Science of INgagement" (2014), and the first-ever market report on Pervasive Neurotechnologies (2015) and their impact on business. He studied at the Universities of the Mediterranean, Cincinnati, the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, and Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. Olivier is the founder of DJs4good an organization leveraging the global community of DJs to support and fund charities and social impact projects.

Understanding your Brain's Health will be moderated by Cherrie Chung and Maria Brodskaya—classically trained musician, a composer, producer who is merging classical musical performance with Neuroscience and VR.
