As we enter the last quarter of this Rotary year, I wanted to share with you where we are at with some of our goals for the year. We've met 11 of 13 required goals to achieve the Club Citation this year. Where can you help us? We're at 86 members on a goal of 100 members for the year. Who can you invite to our club? We've raised $3800 towards a $12,500 goal for The Rotary Foundation. Make a donation during April/May for matching points. We've achieved 16 Service Projects out of a goal of 20, with at least 4 scheduled or in the works. With your help, we can achieve all of these goals by June 30th!
Our April is shaping up nicely. Join us April 10 for the Great Tyler Clean Up at Bergfeld Park. Art Mullan lined up a great list of speakers for our meetings. Jeff Cummings is working on a social event for us towards the end of April. And, our RYLA students attend the virtual RYLA Camp on Saturday, April 24th.
April also kicks off the District 5830 Matching Points campaign for The Rotary Foundation. You'll hear more about this campaign from Tom DeWitt. Why do we ask you to donate to The Rotary Foundation? As a member of South Tyler Rotary, you are also part of 1.2 million Rotarians across the world. Combined, we can do a lot of good in our world. We encourage each member to support The Rotary Foundation annually, to the degree that works best for you and your family.
Beth Blaisdell and her committee are working hard to plan a different format for this year's Reid Franklin Spaghetti Supper. We need all hands on deck for this project! Mark your calendars for May 20th to volunteer. You can help now by soliciting sponsors.
I wanted to thank our "C" team of behind the scenes Rotarians who make sure we have meals and speakers at our Monday meetings. "C" being Carol Conover and Colleen Colby! Carol coordinates our weekly meals; a task made more challenging by restrictions over the last year. Colleen, working with a team of Rotary members, lines up our speakers and replacement speakers. We could not do what we do with out these two great members! Thank you both for all you do for our club. You truly are our "A" team!
If you weren't at the March 22nd meeting, you missed us recognizing Rob Jones as the newest Honorary Member of South Tyler Rotary. Rob has over 39 years membership in our club. Congratulations Rob!
