Chris Johnston is married and has one son and two grandchildren He is proud to have served as Chairman of South Tyler Rotary's first Polio Plus Fund Raiser during which the club raised $10,000 if memory is correct. This is is especially meaningful to Chris as his sister was the polio patient that used the first iron lung brought to Tyler....probably the one that is used as a prop today. by Rotary.

Chris is still enjoying his career as an Architect and as a sole proprietor has completed numerous commercial and residential buildings throughout the state. In addition, he is the author of the book, In Her Father's Footsteps which is the story of his wife's father's WWII combat service with Patton's 90th Division. In his spare time,he is working on another book about a Korean War Corsair pilot , He competes nationwide on Hobie Catamarans, trail rides his horses and works on restoration of a farm scarred by the 1930's East Texas Oil boom.

In the next year, I would like to achieve a top five finish in a North American Hobie Class Championship event topping a previous best of sixth.

 

My name is Samuel Scarborough I grew up in Tyler and attended TK Gorman, graduating in 2010. After moving back to Tyler 2 years ago I began my commercial real estate career with Venue Properties to help people invest/divest their commercial properties. I am passionate about developing our Downtown area as well as giving the majority of my volunteer time to the Hospice of ETX in their Wings program. 

 

My favorite family tradition is the signing of the birthday plate that we do on each person’s birthday. We have had the same plate for over 20 years and we just recently flipped the plate over to start signing the backside.
