Attending today's meeting are students sponsored by South Tyler to attend the RYLA program the weekend of 2/8-2/10. We'll hear about their experiences and take aways from the camp. Our students are from Robert E. Lee High School, Bishop TK Gorman High School and The Brookhill School. Also presenting at today's meeting is "Just Jeff" Miller. Jeff is a member of the Tyler Sunrise Rotary Club and serves as the RYLA 5830 Clubs Coordinator.
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is an international program that was created by Rotary International to encourage strong leadership in youth. Young people chosen for their leadership potential attend an all-expense-paid camp to develop and enhance leadership skills through activities conducted in an atmosphere of trust and respect. Throughout the camp we focus on these eight leadership characteristics:
