Positive Peace and Rotary Peace Chapters

Tammy Haas lives in Whitehouse, TX with her husband Vern and their two mini Aussies.  She is semi-retired from American Family Insurance.  Prior to her insurance career Tammy had a long career in the banking industry as a Commercial Lender.  She has been in Rotary for over 22 years and is a member of our club since June 2024. At her prior club in Washington State she served as Club President from 2011 to 2012, was on the Membership, Club and Youth Services Committee. She servies on our International Committee here at our club. She continues to be a part of the Global Peace Building group along with being a member of the Rotarian Action Group for Peace and has hosted numerous Rotary Exchange students. 

She is currently the volunteer Executive Director for Creating Friendships for Peace.  She and her husband hosted a pair of girls from Cyprus through the program in 2012.  She and Vern then served as Area Coordinators for Northern Oregon and SW Washingtonarea from 2016-2018 then she served as Executive Director from 2019 through 2022.  She served as their  Administrative Coordinator for 2023 and 2024.   During Tammy’s tenure as Executive Director, she was instrumental in the growth of the program both in Cyprus and in Israel-Palestine..   She is committed to Rotary International’s Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution focus.  She has completed the Rotary International and Institute for Economics and Peace Positive Peace Academy.
