Nikki drops of High School Juniors at our RYLA camp near Athens, Tx
Each year, we award RYLA Scholarships to several Juniors from nearby ISDs.
- Two years ago, we sent 3 from QISD.
- Last year, we awarded 3 scholarships but the 'mix' was 2 QISD and 1 YISD.
- This year, we expanded to 4 scholarships and originally had 2 QISD and 2 AGISD. But a last minute conflict changed it to 1 QISD and 3 AGISD.
- Next year???
Each year, students come back to 'rave' about their weekend experience.
This year is very unique: one of our QISD Juniors from last year, decided to apply and was accepted as a camp counselor this year. This speaks volumes to the impact this short weekend has on these students.
