Quitman Rotary collaborates with FUMC Quitman and Carter BloodCare four to five times annually to collect whole blood units for East Texas

Over the past year, we have been actively expanding our donor pool and have carefully scheduled blood drives months in advance with Carter BloodCare and FUMC Quitman. Our aim is to fill all appointment slots at each drive, knowing that every whole blood unit contributes significantly to meeting East Texas' daily needs.

According to Carter BloodCare and the Red Cross, only 3% of the US population donates blood in its various forms - whole blood, plasma, platelets, and more. Supplies of blood with a Negative Rh factor, as well as O blood types (Negative or Positive), remain consistently in high/critical demand..

If you're unable to join one of our donation drives, you can explore other mobile blood donation sites at: https://ww2.greatpartners.org/donor/schedules/zip. Simply enter your zip code and specify how far you're willing to travel (up to 50 miles). You can then choose a location and schedule an appointment.

For those interested in donating at the Tyler Center, which also accepts platelets and plasma donations through apheresis machines, you can register at: https://ww2.greatpartners.org/donor/schedules/center/24.
