A Quitman Rotary member stocking shelves before the ETFB's Tyler Resource Center opens. The Resource Center is open Tues-Fri for a 12:30-2:30 and then a 4:00-6:30pm time slots. In addition, it is open Saturday morning from 8:30-11:30am.
ETFB opened up the Tyler Resource Center Dec 2023 to emulate a grocery store with shopping carts for qualified families. Families that qualify can visit once per week to get various produce, staples (rice, nuts, canned vegetables, etc) along with some protein (normally ground beef, chicken, ham, etc). The proteins are restricted to 'one of' their choice. Mush of the packaged items have limitations but the bins of produce are 'as much as you want' which typically will have potatoes, yams, onions, cabbage, squash, etc. What is available on a given day will most likely be different from day to day. Besides food, ETFB has arranged various service providers (mostly health care) to be onsite for families to visit with (see photo link below).
