Dr. Glenell Lee-Pruitt presents her vision for Jarvis Christian University (JCU)

Several of us in Quitman Rotary Club have met Dr. Lee-Pruitt several times over the years.  Always a positive attitude with seeking out and creating solutions to existing problems.  These were evident in her 30 minute discussion about her vision and where she is driving JCU.  JCU is located in Wood County, a short 25 minute drive from our meeting location.

Dr. Lee-Pruitt is trying to solve a problem with 'in between' kids:  the kids that have aged out of Child Protective Services when they turn 18; ill prepared kids entering college without the emotional or school skillsets or those that are not wanting classical university studies but hands on training.

To solve these, she is guiding JCU to become a 365, 24x7 university that can become a home to many that may not have family support; being able to move kids between JCU and trades while living on campus.  Her intent is to instill knowledge (book or hands on) that enables a paying job with a place to live and eat.

How soon?
JCU is already signing MOU's with various partner organizations to realize this future and convert an owned, unused 500 acre plot across the highway into a heavy machinery learning area.  She expects students to start in mid year.
