We recognized our October Roxana High School Service Above Self award winners, Dalton and Alix.
Alix Hernandez
Today we recognize Alix Hernandez, a senior at Roxana Senior High
School.
Alix is active in Theatre, Student Council as Vice President, Vocal
Ensemble, and several other school organizations. She truly represents the
Rotary value of Service Above Self through her work mentoring students
with disabilities, helping them learn and grow through hands-on activities.
Alix also volunteers at school and community events, including the annual
Christmas fundraiser that brings joy to local families.
She hopes to continue serving her community after high school and
dreams of starting her own committee to organize events that everyone can
enjoy. Please join me in congratulating Alix Hernandez.
Dalton Carriker
Our next honoree is Dalton Carriker, a senior at Roxana Senior High
School.
Dalton is an athlete who plays both varsity baseball and football. He
believes Service Above Self means putting others first, something he lives
by every day. He helps younger players at baseball camps and volunteers
with his mom in the concession stands during games.
After graduation, Dalton plans to play baseball in college and study
criminology with hopes of becoming an FBI special agent. Congratulations
to Dalton Carriker.
