Lillian Woo researches, writes, and lectures about the environment.  She presents lectures regularly to environmental researchers and professionals and has had many articles published on the environment in the  U.S., Europe, and Asia.  She is scheduled to give a featured lecture at an international conference on the environment in Athens in 2021
 
With an undergraduate degree in economics from Vassar College and two graduate degrees in economic from Columbia University, Woo spent more than 35 years as a political consultant and public policy/legislative advisor. Beginning as a public interest advocate representing consumer interests Woo became a political insider and public policy advisor to state and congressional leaders, university presidents and provosts, and corporate CEOS.  She has consulted or managed over 500 campaigns, including three U S president campaigns.  
 
She has  held governor appointed positions of Public Interest Advisor to the NC Attorney General and member of the NC Milk Commission. She was nominated by a U  S President to serve as Deputy Director of the Peace Corps.  She declined this position.  Later she was appointed by the US Secretary of the Treasury to serve as a member of an IRS advisory panel.  Woo was also invited to be a visiting faculty member at the Kennedy School at Harvard.  She declined this position.
 
Woo has authored numerous monographs and journal articles on public policy issues and  published five books. She co-authored the first dictionary on ecodesign.
