Jim H. had food and foundation $’s, quizzed us from the Rotary magazine….When did the 1st Rotary endowment start? 1917
DG Jim had food and foundation $’s, he was watching Jeopardy and a question popped up, “What organization in 1905 with classifications of members begin?” Rotary and he had a happy $ b’c he was going to the Ayer club to induct new members!
Jay had food $’s and our daughter and son-n-law bought a place at the Cape and guess where they will be visiting???
Maila had a happy $ to be here and had food $’s!
Rick had food $’s, made it again this morning and commented 10 more days to get water meter installed!
Nancy had food $’s!
Nick had food and foundation $’s and glad to be here….
Jeanie had food $’s, going to Cat’s Meow tonight where there will be lots of good food and alcohol and is officially a volunteer at Leominster Hospital where she works in the gift shop.
Ellen had food and foundation $’s and commented exciting event on Sunday at Heywood Commons a friend she knows won an Oscar for MadMax as a sound person…maybe we can have him come visit our club and bring his Oscar to show us!
Mickey Guzman had a happy $ b’c it’s always fun here and had food and foundation $’s!
President Leslie had food $’s, gave a Nick moment, happy $ sitting here with Mickey is a treat, happy $ saw Nicholas Gunther and he is beautiful with a head full of hair and is sleeping already 6-7 hours, received text from Gina and she will be here next week along with Craig in April and Deb’s surgery in April but will keep us posted from her blog!
 
Rick pulled ticket #937 and Jeanie Storrrs was the lucky winner who pulled a “Queen” for $1.00…Congrats!!

  • We need to focus on membership with a more diversity of classifications in our club.
  • Need speakers for the upcoming months!!!

  • 3/29/16 – Paul Harris dinner with the Fitchburg club  at the Old Mill, an evening event
  • 4/29/16 – TTMOTTBG @ the Arc, more info to come…for the month of February we need collection for kitchen items, March-Barbecue items and April-Gardening. Please bring in items so we can have 3 baskets for this event! Looking for sponsors and name mailing list to invite people.
  • 5/14/16 – Apple Blossom Festival @ Sholan Farms BUT we are not doing fried dough this year due to the District Conference the following weekend. We will have an information booth that day up there.
  • May 20th, 21st and 22nd 2016– District Conference, Plymouth Ma. We will be hosting a hospitality “sweet” the theme this year is “Plymouth Rocks!” Register…….now!!

President Leslie introduced Mickey Guzman who was Past President of our club in 2001 and is now an honorary member. As he looked around the room there are only a few that heard him speak a long time again and here he is this morning speaking to our club a 3rd time to give us an insight of the Spanish American Center he has worked at the past 19 years. The Spanish American Center has been serving the community for over 40 years with Neddy Latimer as the Executive Director and Mickey as the Family Advocate/Elders Coordinator. This is one of the oldest organizations running since 1968. They used to have direct services but today they do mostly indirect services make referrals. He spoke about the services the SAC provide such as advocacy and referral, immigration services, adult English classes, verbal/written translation and transportation services, emergency services, domestic violence (family), youth programs/services, elder programs/services, income tax preparation and notarizations. It is a non-profit community based agency which is open to anyone and everyone. They even have a Soup Kitchen which is open on Wednesday and Thursday from 4-5 for free meals. They feed 1,000 kids for 7 weeks during the summer. For information you can call at 978-534-3145 x 114. Great info…thanks, Mickey!
