Salvation Army Food Distribution
for Thanksgiving

This year the Salvation Army will distribute over 200 boxes of food to families in the Cortland area, helping to make their Thanksgiving a bit more joyful. The Rotary Club of Cortland has stepped up to help pack the boxes for next week's distribution. Food concern security continues to be a major issue for many families in Cortland County.

Demolition is done in the new house
for the YMCA after school program

The Rotary Club of Cortland has partnered with the YMCA of Cortland to do renovation work at a house next to the current YMCA. The house will be used for teaching space, and an after school program. Attending children will need healthy food after school, so the kitchen is being totally renovated to meet code and health department rules. Funding for the project is from Rotary District 7170 District Grant, The Rotary Club of Cortland's Donor Advised Fund, and grants which the YMCA has secured.

The Rotary Club of Cortland Completes
a Books for the World Project!

August 24, nine Rotarian volunteered to pack two pallets of Books from the Cortland City School District.
The collection of books are from the District as it closed two libraries in the District over the past two years. The 3,467 books will be heading to students in Africa, helping to support their educational programs. This is the Club's fifth packing for BFTW.
