District Grant At Work--Girls' Empowerment Program

We had a great presentation today by Julie Devlin, program coordinator for youth programs at the Westfield YWCA. Our District 7090 Grant for 2015-2016 was toward the YWCA Westfield “Girls’ Empowerment Program”.  It served 45 area girls from WACS, Brocton, CLCS, and home-schooled students.  26% of the girls were considered “high-risk”, although not from economic factors.  There were many topics covered throughout the program, all of which were very beneficial, as Rotarians were told by Lauren Bills (6th grader) and Sophie Devlin (7th grader) both ‘graduates’ of the program.
