Rotary Weekly Update - September 15, 2016

Ridgewood AM Rotary club meeting September 15, 2016

 

Present: President Vernon Reed, Ashok Patel, Maureen Cornicelli, Rob Saydah, Greg Tarris, Caleb Kim, Dan Fishbein, Scott Johnson, John Plum, Barbara Sacks.  Betty Weist came in around 7:45 a.m., looked around the room and turned around and left, although she was invited to join the meeting.  Some members were at the playground construction site already and some were headed over there after the Rotary meeting.  

 

Opening procedures (flag salute, invocation, day in history) and then dining on lovely breakfast that included smoked salmon and fancy blueberry pancakes this week. 

 

Happy dollars: everyone reminded that stressed spelled backwards is desserts. 

Speaker: Andy Gurlick spoke about the Boy Scouts and gave a great deal of historical information about the history and activities of the Boy Scouts.  He concluded his speech with an appeal for each Rotarian to donate at least $25 to scouting and for the Club to donate at least $500 to the local scouting effort for this region. 

 

Vernon Reed won the 50/50.  No winner yet for Queen of Hearts card drawing.
