David Scher
I am honored and humbled to serve as President in the upcoming year. I joined Rotary because I felt a strong desire to be a part of a fellowship dedicated to giving back. What I have experienced in my time with Rotary is something much greater. I have watched extraordinary people do extraordinary things. Our club is defined by these people and our one true goal: to help.
My goal this year is to focus on a few key areas that have received feedback from our members.
Committees - When I was a new member in Rotary, I didn't find my place until I was asked to be part of a committee. It helped me get to know other members and learn how the club functioned. This year, I would like all members to be part of a committee. We all joined this club to be a part of something important and being on a committee furthers that involvement.
Fundraising - Our club has had great success with fundraising in years past. This year brings a change to our approach, keeping the future in mind. The initiative began with club feedback, changing times, and a natural evolution of our current model. I'd like to thank the Fundraising Committee for the many hours of research and development dedicated to restructuring this project. Thank you to our members for your ideas, suggestions, and support.
Community Service/Social Committees - This year, we are focusing on more Community Service projects and the growth of this committee. There has been a lot of interest from club members to get out into the community and donate their time. We are merging the Community Service and Social committees to intertwine community involvement with relationship building. I am very excited about the energy surrounding this plan, and I look forward to watching it come to life.
I would like to thank Mike Tozzoli for a successful year as President. I plan to continue his mission to build on connections within our group. Additional small group and individual meetings among members have already helped spark new ideas and strengthen relationships. I look forward to a year of working together and doing extraordinary things!
