Update from Ambassadorial Scholar Ryann Bresnahan

Apologies for not getting back to you until now. Thanks for sending along the slide (Rotary family pic! at conference)--I was planning on being at the Wine Tasting until I became the lucky recipient of a nasty case of bronchitis and thought it best for others not to confuse it for the swine flu. Good times all around. I hope it was a successful night--
Update, update...I have successfully submitted my housing form for Northumbria University (almost as complicated as the college application itself!), and will be informed of my accomodations by August, so a bit of a wait on that front. I'm also in a holding pattern for the visa; the earliest I can apply is mid-June. In the meantime, I learned about Rotarian Action Groups during the District Conference a couple weeks back, and after a bit of research discovered a Disaster Relief RAA (www.drrag.org ) which I joined a week ago (when in Newcastle I'll be studying for a MSc in Disaster Management, so a good fit). I look forward to participating in the group as it keeps a pulse on numerous emergency operations worldwide, and it is a great networking opportunity. I'll admit work (public health program evaluation) is keeping me busy, but I took the month of August off to help prepare for my year abroad, so I'll be coming to Milford Rotary meetings before I head off to the UK!!
