Rotarian Mike Peterson, left, was the program chair and his guest James Wallace, Director of GOAL-gun owners action league- gave an outstanding presentation about a somewhat controversial topic. GUN LAWS. Jim gave an informative and spellbound presentation on a variety of topics on gun laws as they pertain to the good guys and the bad guys and noted that the law tends to treat both the same and that is not a good thing. Jim indicated that in his opinion and based on statistics- Gun Control Is a Failed Social Experiment and the gun control act of 1998 has resulted in a decade of disaster. Under Jim's, first in the nation "MassGunLawReform", GOAL is trying to create legislation that will "enhance individual rights and strengthen our criminal laws". It would be the first law that would recognize the difference between Good Guy or Gals and the Bad Guys. It was a very spirited and passionate presentation that captured the attention of the audience followed by a good question and answer session. Great topic and great luncheon. You can learn a whole lot more at www.goalgoal.org and www.massgunlawreform.com . I think because we spent so much time learning about FINES, much larger and more painful than the typically Rotary fine, President Barry waived the fines for today. Remember next weeks meeting is WEDNESDAY at 6 pm. Rain or SHINE. Photo- Mike Peterson, left, the animated James Wallace on the right.
