at 7:50 on December 7, 1941 Tom, age 9 and his family were at home on Ford Island when Pearl Harbor was bombed. Tom's mom was making
waffles for breakfast. Eventually the family belongings were packed and shipped back to the US where they remained in crates for many years. Tom opened some boxes in 1965 and found this waffle machine with the partially cooked waffle still inside. Amazing - worthy of being in the Smithsonian Institute.
