Milford Rotary Donates $10,000 to Milford Hospital

Following a Board of Directors meeting in mid-September, Rotary members voted to approve the Board’s recommendation to pledge $10,000 to the Milford Regional Medical Center’s Capital Campaign supporting the hospital’s new state-of-the-art Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and Private Patient Rooms for the Community. The contribution will be issued from the Club’s long-term planning capital fund, which is funded by a$100 annual donation from each Rotarian. 
Rotarian and Capital Committee Chairman Paul Tamagni told club members, "We are proud and fortunate to have such an amazing medical campus right here in Milford, and now is the time for Rotary to step up and support this great community project”. The funds were matched by an anonymous donor's one million dollar matching challenge to help the Foundation complete the 25 million dollar campaign. During yesterday's pre-open house, many Rotarian's could be seen touring the beautiful building and as you toured you could see the many plaques posted honoring donations made by Rotarian's and their businesses. I was able to catch the very busy Martin Richman and he took me to The Nourishment Room, funded by Rotary on the same floor as the "beautiful Tranquility Garden". Given Rotary's 2014-2015 focus on helping people with their "Humanitarian Needs" is seems like Rotary's name on Nourishment Room sure matches Rotary's goals. As was stressed yesterday by Frank Saba and all the speakers-this new addition is something special. The public open house is Sunday -there are more details on the hospitals web site but I did grab the notice off the site to remind all about the Sunday afternoon opportunity.
