April 7th Business Meeting

A request was received from Paul Surapine for a $1000 donation in support of the Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra.  Unanimously approved.

 

A motion was made at a previous meeting to support “I Can Bike”, which Theresa Ehrlich came and spoke to the club about.  A $100 donation was unanimously approved.

 

A motion was made to give a $500 donation to the Irwin family in support of the family after the recent house fire.  Approved unanimously.

 

A request was made from the Hopedale PTO for a donation to the Hopedale After Prom Party.  A $100 donation was unanimously approved.

 

Ralph reviewed our financials. 

 

Fly the Flag – Steve Chaplin reported on this.  There will be a report from the subcommittee at the next Board Meeting with a recommendation to be put forward as to whether the club will help support this program.

 

Scholarship Committee – We didn’t receive any applications from Hopedale.  There will be 3 scholarships of $1,000 this year due to this.  Interviews will be next week some time.  An email will follow requesting assistance with the interviews.

 

RYLA – Mike Kaplan has set up interviews.  Volunteers are needed for interviews.  Mike DiCicco will email the club for volunteers.

 

Crutches for Africa - This will be on Saturday, May 16th from 8am - 1pm at the Milford Water Company.  Volunteers will be needed for this event.  More info to come.

 

Jenney will need to step down as Career Day Chair.  She will still be able to serve on the committee.  We are looking for a member to take over this.  Please let Dennis know if you are interested.

 

Tuesday, May 12th is our joint meeting with The Lions Club at 6:30pm at Restaurant 45.  John Fernandes and Ryan Fattman will be the guest speakers.
