Out of the ICU

It's another beautiful Sunday morning. The time is 7:30. My home phone rings. I answer. It's Dulce with good and bad news. The good news is that at 1:30 this morning Justin was taken from the ICU to the 8th floor. The children are brought to the 8th floor when they no longer require the life saving monitors. Wow, think about it. Yesterday, Justin is standing and walking, and today, he's moved from the ICU.

The bad news is that Dulce was tired and hungry. She did not sleep all night and the hospital does not provide food for the family, only the child.

I told her I would bring her some food as soon as possible. I went to church. Everyone there was asking for Justin. I paid my wife a visit at the cemetery. T he grave looked better and complete with the new headstone.

On my way over to the hospital, I stopped at the Meadowlands Diner. Oh, did I tell you, the diner is being renovated; and open during renovation! I had some coffee while I waited for a take out of two soups, pastrami on rye, chicken fingers, and fries. The drive to the hospital was good, no traffic, and made it in forty minutes. Before going upstairs, I stopped at the café and picked up some coffee for Dulce and me, and ten packets of sugar. She will use all of them.

The room Justin is in is nice. The sleeping sofa is not as comfortable looking as the one in the ICU. It looks like a sure sign they are getting ready to kick Justin and Dulce out of the hospital. He is going to have some tests tomorrow. Oh. When I arrived at the room, they were taking X-rays of Justin.

I stayed till 4 or 4:30. I was hoping Dulce could get some sleep when I left; however, I feel this little guy is on his way to a full recovery. But I'll keep on praying even after we get the doctors' results.

That man upstairs is surly looking down on Justin, and I don't mean the doctor on the 10th floor.

Can you believe twenty six days already? Where did the time go?
