On January 22, 2020 Fair Lawn Rotarians in conjunction with the teachers, staff and administration of the two Middle Schools held the Fair Lawn Rotary National Geography Bee Middle School Championships at the Fair Lawn High School. Twenty middle school students, ten from Thomas Jefferson and ten from Memorial, competed to be a Nat Geo Bee Champion and move on the next round of this national competition.
Promoting education around the world is one of Rotary’s major initiatives and The Rotary Club of Fair Lawn is proud to sponsor events such as the Fair Lawn Middle Schools National Geographic Geography Bee Championships in order to promote an atmosphere of the love of learning both locally and globally. It was an exciting night of questions that we were all amazed that these students tackled with aplomb.
We wish to congratulate not only the two winners, but all of the students that participated in this event.
We would also like to thank the Columbia Bank Foundation for their continued support. Columbia once again gracious underwrote the grand prize to each Middle School Champion, a Samsung Tablet.
