Memorial Day is a day where we pause to give thanks to the people who fought for all that we enjoy as Americans.  Without their belief in serving the greater good, we would not be able to enjoy the rights we have as Americans; freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom to congregate and freedom to practice your religious beliefs.  Members of The Rotary Club of Fair Lawn, give thanks to our veterans.

As a way of showing our thanks to the men and women of the armed forces, both of the Rotary Clubs serving Fair Lawn participated in Fair Lawn’s Memorial Day Parade held on Monday, May 30th.  The event started with a Rotary sponsored breakfast at the Cadmus House, the kick-off location of the parade.  From the Cadmus House the parade route followed Fair Lawn Avenue down to River Road; taking River Road, all participants turned down Berdan Avenue towards Memorial Park.  The route was lined with many cheering on the different groups participating in the parade and giving thanks to the Veterans that were either marching or riding in this annual event.

Rotarians were proud to be a part of this important show of support to our troops.
