Rotary Supports Our Youth

During the June 19, 2013 Fair Lawn Rotary Installation Dinner, local Rotarians and guests had the opportunity to meet the incoming officers of the Fair Lawn High School Interact Club and spend time with the Club’s exchange student prior to his departure to his home country.

The FLHS Interact Club will continue their support and participation in the Alzheimer’s Walk fundraising event this Fall and is looking forward to once again bringing holiday cheer to the students in Paterson’s School Six.  The Interact Club is very active in the school as well as our local community.  Michael Baer is the liaison between the two Clubs.

Mateus L., our exchange student from Birigui, Brazil will soon be leaving his host family and friends from Fair Lawn.  Mateus was originally an exchange student from Amityville, NY, however Super Storm Sandy forced him to leave Long Island.  Fair Lawn Rotarians were happy to welcome him to Fair Lawn as the LaRocco family opened up their home to Mateus.  Mateus has become a large part of the LaRocco family and will be sorely missed; not only by his host family, but by all the friends he has made during his year abroad in Fair Lawn.
