Rotary Awards Presented

The Rotary Club of Fair Lawn has a motivated and active membership.  As with any organization, some members have gone above and beyond the call, doing what is right, acting live a Rotarians never saying no and helping wherever they can.  Each year Fair Lawn Rotarians recognize one of their own through the awarding of The Walter D. Head Foundation Award and a Paul Harris Fellowship.

The Walter D. Head Foundation Award is named after a District Rotarian whom exemplifies the qualities of Rotarians, lending a helping hand whenever and wherever asked to do so.  In recognition of her hard work during the 2012/2013 Rotary Year; The Rotary Club of Fair Lawn awarded the Walter D. Head award to Victoria Padovano.  Vicki joined The Fair Lawn Rotary in early 2012 and immediately jumped into the role of program/speaker coordinator during this past Rotary Year.  She has coordinated each member’s suggestion for a program/speaker and has completed the job in a wonderful manner.  Vicki is an Assistant Branch Manager with a local bank.

The Paul Harris Fellowship is an award recognition program named after the founder of Rotary, Paul Harris.  Rotarians and non-Rotarians can be nominated for this award.  For the 2012/2013 Rotary Year, Fair Lawn Rotarians has bestowed this honor to Stuart Herrmann.  As President during this past year, his second time in the chair, he has reinvigorated our Project R.E.A.L. and made all of our programs assisting our youth a strong priority.  His leadership in our dictionary distribution project and the Spelling Bee has been contagious as well as his overall enthusiasm for all things Rotary.  Stu is a financial planner right here in Fair Lawn for the past 34 years.  He became a Rotarian in 1989.
