Philanthropic Fellowship

The Rotary Club of Fair Lawn and the Fair Lawn Lions Club are bonded by their commitment to the Fair Lawn community as well as giving back to the world community.  Each local Club is part of a larger global organization made up of volunteers that seeks to help people in need wherever and whenever needed. 

 

Members of both Clubs get together each year to enjoy the bond of volunteering in our community.  Each of these Clubs is over 60 years old; The Rotary Club of Fair Lawn was organized in August of 1948 and the Fair Lawn Lions Club was founded in 1950.   

 

 

During the past 60+ years, each of these volunteer philanthropic organizations has helped support numerous groups in the Fair Lawn community.  Groups such as the FL Heavy Rescue Squad, FL Ambulance Corp., The Opportunity Center, Fair Lawn All Sports, FL Police Reserves, FL Senior Center, Maurice Pine Library, scholarships to Fair Lawn High School students continuing their education, dictionaries for Fair Lawn 3rd graders and many others over the years.

 

Internationally each organization undertakes a variety of programs to meet the need of the global community.  Information in international efforts of Rotary can be found at www.rotary.org and information about the Lions’ programs can be found at www.lionsclubs.org.

 

Both organizations meet at the Fair Lawn Athletic Club located at 14-19 Parmelee Ave., across from the municipal building.  The Rotary Club of Fair Lawn meets each Thursday at 12:15 PM and the Fair Lawn Lions meet each Wednesday at 12 noon, except for the 3rd Wed. of each month.
