Lunchtime Ballroom Dancing

Recently, members of The Rotary Club of Fair Lawn were treated to a ballroom dancing exhibition by two-time National Latin Dance Champions Adriana Bezmenova and Georgi Kanev, owners of Dance A Lot Ballroom Studio right here in Fair Lawn.

Adriana and Georgi began dancing together in Bulgaria in 2002, and their partnership blossomed into a marriage and family. In 2005, after winning the National Bulgarian Cup for the second time and becoming Amateur Champions, Adriana and Georgi turned professional and have been successfully dancing, performing and competing worldwide, from Bulgaria, to Russia, Georgia, the UK and the United States.

In 2005 they decided to move to the US to continue their dancing career as well as their dance teaching careers. They have worked for the top Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Upper Montclair, New Jersey, where they have learned the business from the best in the field: Charlie and Jeannie Penatello, Armando Martin, Stepnen Knight, Carrie Babcock, Kostadin Bidjourov, Ilya Ifraimov, Nadia Goulina, Gabriela Jileva and many more. After four years of teaching and achieving different levels of dance certifications they felt confident and mature enough to use their knowledge to develop a successful business together.

Both are multi-lingual -- Adriana speaks Bulgarian, Russian, English and Greek, and Georgi speaks Bulgarian, Russian and English. They are certified dance teachers, and members of the National Dance Council of America.

Adriana and Georgi are continuing to develop their dancing skills as well as their teaching, with one mission – to continue to bring excellence to everything they do and to enrich the lives of other people through dance.
