Fair Lawn Rotarians are excited to announce the creation of monthly Wednesday Evening Meetings. These meetings allow for more flexibility and member engagement for existing and new Rotarians. This exciting new meeting night kicks off on Wednesday September 21, 2022 at The Rail Yard Tavern, 14-26 Plaza Rd., North, Fair Lawn, NJ. These meetings will start at 6:30 PM, there will be a limited menu available for those needing dinner.
Our first Wednesday Night Meeting will include a presentation by Pat Idone about the Garretson Forge and Farm located on River Road in Fair Lawn. In 1974 a group of concerned citizens saved this homestead from development and created the Garretson Forge and Farm Restoration, Inc. (GFFR) to preserve this County Historic Site. GFFR, Inc. is a volunteer organization whose mission is to preserve and maintain the Garretson homestead, keeping it open to the public; to educate the greater community about local and state history; to foster environmentally sustainable agricultural practices and biodiversity.
