Rotarians around the world are celebrating the start of the new Rotary Year; throughout the world President-elects are starting their presidency that will run from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012.  Globally, the President of Rotary International is Kalyan Banerjee whose Rotary Theme is “Reach Within to Embrace Humanity”.  President Banerjee has asked all of us to search within ourselves to understand that all of us, everywhere, have the same dreams, the same hopes, the same aspirations, and similar dilemmas.  It is President Banerjee’s belief that when we understand, and truly feel, that others’ needs are the same as our own, we begin to understand how important our work is as Rotarians.

In the year ahead Fair Lawn Rotarians will work under President Banerjee’s vision to see how we, as individuals, can work with Rotarians around the world to bring peace, harmony and friendship to bring positive change to all around us.  This year’s Club President, Glenn Stubaus will be taking the helm of The Rotary Club of Fair Lawn for the second time.  His last Presidency was the 1996/97 Rotary Year and all members of the Club are looking forward to working with Glenn during his second Presidency as we work together to provide a helping hand to those in need locally and globally.

Glenn is a committed Rotarian, always working hard to fulfill the Object of Rotary; to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and in particular to encourage and foster:             FIRST: The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;

SECOND: High ethical standards I business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness f all useful occupations and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society;

THIRD: The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business and community life;

FOURTH: The advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
