Our January 23rd meeting was one of honor, remembrance, and giving. Irving Weinberg was presented a Certificate of Appreciation for his service to our Club and The Opportunity Center. For the past 35 years Irving provided wonderful holiday music during our Annual Opportunity Center Holiday parties. The Rotary Foundation of Fair Lawn presented a $100 donation to The Opportunity Center in Irving's name. Nadine Kaiser, Executive Director accepted this donation on behalf of the Center and further thanked Fair Lawn Rotarians for the prior donation used for renovations at The Opportunity Center.
The Rotary Foundation of Fair Lawn also made a $100 donation to the Maurice M. Pine Free Public Library in remembrance of passed Club member Dr. Alvin Seligson, a proponent of strengthening local libraries. Library Director and Club Member Adele Puccio accepted this donation in Doc' honor. Subsequently, the library purchased an A/V cart with the donation.
