CFA Donation

The Pantry Manager for the Center for Food Action, Jim James, visited our Rotary Club today and was presented with a check by Rotarian and former Club President Brent Edmonds. 

The check represents the $9,000 in CFA donations that were collected during the holiday season by the Bergen Highlands/Ramsey Rotary Club, Inserra Supermarkets, the Saddle River Task Force and Friends of CFA.

Here are some the points that Jim made about CFA when he accepted the donation;

- 67,000 food packages were sent out last year.

- Almost 3,500 victims of Hurricane Sandy in Moonachie and Little Ferry were helped.

- Supplied food for 10,000 people during Thanksgiving.

- CFA gave away approximately $3 million worth of food last year.

Jim said that "this donation will be particularly helpful to offset the donation decline that CFA typically sees during the Summer months."
