Robyn Shafer - Walter D. Head Scholarship Recipient

Robin Shafer, a Certified Midwife, visited our Rotary Club this week.  She is pictured below with Club President Marcelo Gloria,

Robyn received a scholarship from the District 7490 Walter D. Head Foundation to pursue her Masters Degree at Yale University.

As defined in Wikipedia,  "Midwifery is a health care profession in which providers offer care to childbearing women during pregnancy, labor and birth, and during the postpartum period". 

Robyn made a compelling case for the benefit of working with a Midwife.  She also discussed how the Midwife profession may be able to help address the growing number of difficult and problem births in the USA.
