Rotary helps Longreach in time of drought

 

As you are aware many communities throughout Queensland have been suffering from  ongoing drought compounding over the last three to four years. Families are now really struggling to meet the financial expenses of raising and educating  their  children.  This crisis is extending beyond the farm gate into the kitchen and school rooms. 

 

Longreach School of Distance Education has 190 students from E-Kindy to Year 10 living in a  large catchment area of Central Western Queensland.  As the school community struggles with day to day worsening pressure of dealing with drought, the LSODE P&C came up with a fundraiser called “Beds for Bush Kids” to support our students to attend mini-schools and school events

during these very challenging seasons.
