Donation from Glenn

Dear Avriel and Glen,

 

Thank you for your generous donation of $1000 to our Rotary Club.

 

I know it has been Glens practice for some time to give a donation and it is very much appreciated by our club and it is put to good use in our community.

 

I have given thought where to place these funds  and at the moment there are two projects that are certainly worth supporting and I have indicated to my board that is where I wish the funds will go.

 

Project 1          We are in negotiations at the moment with the Nautilus Arts Centre – City of Port Lincoln in forming an annual art award known as “Rotary Youth Art Award” to which we will contribute $500.

 

Project 2          We are sponsoring a year 11 Port Lincoln student who has been selected to be a Youth Parliamentarian at the Youth Parliament in July 2017.

It is an apolitical program that empowers young people to be advocates for their community.

It aims to connect politicians and decision makers with youth voices and opinions while providing young people in South Australia with youth leadership training and opportunities for personal development.

We will contribute $500 to assist with costs.

 

I am pleased to hear Glen is improving and we send you both our best wishes.
