SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR PORT LINCOLN ROTARIANS REGISTERING FOR DISTRICT CONFERENCE.
The Conference Committee has considered a request for special consideration for Port Lincoln members for the District Conference in March.  After a careful look at the program and the various planned time commitments we have made the following decision.
 
The Conference Committee has considered a request for special consideration for Port Lincoln members for the District Conference in March.  After a careful look at the program and the various planned time commitments, this is what we have decided:
  1. The program of work for Port Lincoln and Adelaide Light members suggests that most members of the two clubs should be able to attend the sessions on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, but not Sunday morning.  We hope that means that many of you will take the opportunity to register and attend a good portion of what promises to be a great conference.  For the one or two who might have to be elsewhere during those session times, we will consider individual requests if they want such special consideration.
  2. We agreed that, if your partners do not want to register, they can come to the Conference Dinner on Friday night for $80.  We also agreed that Port Lincoln members can register at the Super Early Bird rate until 31 August.  For everyone else, the rate goes up on 15 August. 
  3. It was a bit messy sorting out how to set this up on-line, but this is the best we can do:

If you register up to 15 August and want your partner to just come to the Conference Dinner, enter your partner as a “Rotarian partner” (which will show as $160), further on in the process type “PLC” as the Discount Code, and it will drop that price to $80.  Note that this price is ONLY for the Dinner and does NOT include the Mayoral Reception on the Friday night.
  5. If you register in the period 16-31 August, type “PLC2” as the Discount Code if you are registering on your own or “PLC3” if you and your partner are registering and you will get the Super Early Bird rate for members and partners.  If you register in this period and your partner is just coming to the Dinner, use Discount Code “PLC”  as above and it will give you the $20 off your registration and just charge $80 for your partner’s dinner.
We are aware that a number of you are disappointed that surplus funds, if any, from the Conference will not come back into your Club’s coffers.  This has been a District policy for a number of years now.  Be assured, however, that any surplus funds are not wasted – while some are used as a float for the next conference, the bulk of any surplus is put as a District contribution to the Rotary Foundation and, as such, is used for charitable works, both locally and internationally.
