Meeting Presider:     Barb Lias     Pledge:  Carm      Prayer:    Tony

50/50 Raffle:  Winner – Sandy $6  Fines:  Sandy collected for the pan today, and put her 50/50 winnings right back in, along with requesting a BIRTHDAY song for herself. We sang. She put $5 more in the pot! Barb paid for an Italy trip. Eric paid for a Denver trip. Happy dollars given by everyone else!

Club business:
>Eric filled Jody's shoes as treasurer today while she is off golfing in Florida for her birthday! THANK YOU, ERIC!
>See the separate news article for our speaker, Tom Windus.
>President Barb noted the we have a minimum quorum for today's monthly Board of Directors meeting right after our regular meeting.
>MK routed the Polio Plus Bike-a-thon pledge sheet again. The event is this weekend during the District Conference. On a motion from Jim G, 2nd by Doug P, and APPROVED by club vote, we will contribute $200 as a club to the Bike-a-thon. Jody can take care of the check later. MK will get the additional donations to her and directions for mailing as well.
>Sandy suggested that the Club Assembly be moved to November 1 to address details, sign up for specific jobs, for the pasta dinner. Good plan.
>Reminders to Doug & Al for Nov speakers. Get info to MK to include in the ROLEAN. Speakers needed Nov 8, 15, 22. There is no noon meeting Nov 29 as it is the 5th Tuesday. Members are encouraged to have a fellowship luncheon on that day.
>Reminder, too, that George Hendrix & the Paynes (Sue & Kim) have programs in Dec. Risa & Sandy have helped with the Christmas meeting where we wrap gifts for the local giving tree children that we adopt each year from the OTH listing.
>MK is working with the OTH on the full page ad. It will run on Oct. 30. The newspaper is taking care of calling sponsors, most often from members' places of employment. Expect a call.
>Tony announced concern and pulling away from the Revitalizing Olean Group. Conflicts of interest and fiduciary accountability are real issues. Al has distanced himself as well.
>A plug for the high rating for the ROTARY FOUNDATION was made in tandem with the previous conversation. All members are encouraged to participate. Sandy is our Foundations Chair. This coming year is the 100th anniversary of the FOUNDATION. All are being asked to contribute an extra $26.50, the same amount founding RI member Arch Klumph made at the end of his year as president with a request to begin a FOUNDATION. The books hold millions and over the year have awarded grants serving humanity in the billions. It is a good investment of you resources.
>Questions about the pasta dinner preparations were detailed. Dennis will follow up with Carl: Sandy needs a poster (MK took care of it). Barb asked if we were doing specific sign up sheets for jobs that day. Good idea. Who will coordinate? Sandy asked if we determined the # of tickets given to sponsors at different levels? It seemed to be too generous in the past for smaller donors. Dennis will discuss with Carl.

Dates & Details District Conference this weekend! Barb & Mary Kay & [redacted] are going for the weekend. Sandy & Dennis are going for Saturday only. Doug Price is bringing [redacted] & the 200 meals we package home on Sunday when MK heads to Cayuga Lake for the week.
