Carl Vahl is ABSENT AGAIN... with GOOD reason....

Olean Rotarian Carl Vahl has a passion for international service. He has helped our club bring more than 50 water wells to communities in Niger and connect others to municipal water lines. Clean water is another one of Rotary International's six areas of focus. "A year ago I took am amazing mission trip with Alliance for Smiles, an NGO which provides life changing cleft pallet and cleft lip surgery to children with no other access to this type of medical care and would otherwise live their entire lives with easily fixable deformities. This year I am traveling to Sagaing Myanmar with an incredible team of volunteer surgeons, doctors, nurses, dentists, dental hygienists, speech therapists and others (I'm the record keeper) for the same purpose. Alliance for Smiles was created in 2004 by 6 Rotarian's from the San Francisco Rotary Club who saw a need and decided to do something about it. Since then AFS has preformed more than 6000 surgeries never charging a patient or family. I will post photo's and trip updates when internet is available.
