Caring for the Environment Project
Following his visit to our Group 12 meeting recently, Gerry Butler has organised a visit to the site at Pakapakanthi / Victoria Park on Sunday 28 March at 10:00am.
This will be an opportunity to see the habitat of a large population of the Chequered Copper (Lucia limbaria) Butterfly in a grassy woodland, in the middle of one of the City of Adelaide's largest parklands. We've seen the video - let's see it in real life. Bring your camera with you. It will also be an opportunity to learn more about how we can be involved in this project - physically and financially. (Butterfly Conservation SA is looking for funding of $2,000 for the project.)
Cars can be parked either near the corner of East Terrace and South Terrace and walk due east about 200 metres; or in Grant Avenue and walk south-west about 300 metres.
As this is an outdoor event we will be subject to the vagaries of the weather and so people need to dress accordingly. In the event of heavy rain the walk will be postponed.
