The Club Service  portfolio provides the behind the scenes or "engine room" service that ensures the Rotary Club of Adelaide Light operates in an efficient manner, so we can engage with our members and guests in a positive and friendly manner.

From August 2018, we met for breakfast on the first, third and (when it occurs) the fifth Thursday morning at the Royal Coach Hotel in Kent Town. This provided an excellent venue for our meetings.

In late February 2019, it was decided by the Club that we would move our meetings to the Ibis Hotel in Grenfell Street. It has long been our desire to return to the "city square mile" as we are a city-based club.  In order to broaden our appeal to a wider range of possible members, the meeting schedule changed to breakfast on the second and fourth Thursday morning of the month.  There are also occasional dinner meetings.

Another change occurred later in 2019 and we moved to the Stamford Hotel, North Terrace, opposite Parliament House, for breakfast on the second and fourth Thursday of the month.  However, this ceased in 2020 when the hotel became a medi-hotel during the COVID pandemic. So we now meet at the Terrace Hotel on South Terrace.

To accommodate those retired (and other) members who would like to get together on the other weeks, we meet informally at "The White Picket Fence" on Stuart Road, Dulwich at 930am on those Thursdays when there is no scheduled meeting for our so-called "Coffee Conversation".

We continue to hold the occasional meeting offsite; our Christmas Brunch in early December and our formal Changeover Dinner in June have often been held at Kooyonga Golf Club and we thank David Rowe for his introductions there, a great venue and golf course.

Dean Sullivan continues  organising interesting and entertaining speakers for us - as few speakers have an excuse for not appearing at 7.15am in the morning. Di Lane does a great job producing our Newsletters.   Members take it in turns to arrive early to set up the venue and to welcome members as they arrive.

The Club website is maintained by John Wotherspoon, while Richard Jarrett acts as webmaster and looks after the ClubRunner website which we use for Newsletters, emails and other Club records.

Please read our Newsletters - accessible on the Home Page of the website - for a current listing of our upcoming speakers - and please feel free to join us if you'd like to hear them.
