Last week’s breakfast speaker was Ivy Blacker, Community Development Coordinator of the Women’s Safety Services SA ‘s EASE (Earlier Access to Support & Engagement) unit. In domestic violence situations, the EASE team, led by Ivy, provides case management support for women and their children, information, DV information and education, risk assessment and safety planning, community-based education, groups and programs, and non-judgmental support for those who want to continue their relationship.
They also provide connection to community services including specialist referrals for health, legal and financial support, as well as assistance for Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and culturally diverse people who have concerns in their relationships. Those with disabilities and the LGBTQIA+ people are also helped by the EASE team.

At Don Tindale’s funeral last Monday, it was wonderful to see Honorary, former and current Club members and their partners attend to honour Don’s memory.
It was lovely to catch up with Terry Rodoni who drove over from Ballarat, Andrew and Judy Black, Kym and Sandy Pedlar, Fred Field, Rob Brooke, Graham Smith and Barry Grear. Former Adelaide City Rotaract President Heidi Wolff (who was mentored by Don) and her 3yo son also attended, along with 10 current members and partners. I also received many emails acknowledging Don’s contribution to Rotary as well as his wonderful personality from PDG Craig Dowling, former President Miriam Silva, Heidi Unfordorben, among many others.
Don’s contribution to Adelaide Light Rotary will be remembered, as will our treasured friendship with him.
This coming Thursday Coffee Catch-up will be at the White Picket Café from 9.30am.
