Stories
President's Pen
Our last Thursday Breakfast meeting was a great success with a lot discussed with a smaller group than usual.

The third annual Rotary Walk Against Domestic Violence was held yesterday and was deemed a great success by everyone who participated.
Our club was well represented with Ian, Alison, Club Friends Yuli, my daughter Katie, our RYLA participant Madhav, Pasang & her partner and John W., Erfan and myself met everyone at the Festival Plaza.
It was great to have Mike Smithson from Ch7 as the MC as this prompted Ch7 to feature the Walk on their Sat night news service.

On Sunday, eight members and friends, including Liz, Helen and myself attended a most enjoyable movie at the Regal Cinema, The Traveller with Brian Brown.
It was a fundraiser for Rotary Mental Health and I ran into past members, John and Julie Campbell.

Monday was our monthly BBQ at Bunnings MileEnd which was unfortunately very slow and we only had enough volunteers to manage two shifts. We ended up with a net profit of $634.23.

This coming Sunday, the Rotary Community Group One which we belong to are holding a family picnic which everyone is invited to attend.
The flyer can be found in this newsletter with all the details.
Heidi from the Adelaide Club is the organiser and is encouraging everyone to register please to give her an idea of numbers.

Originally our Cuppa Conversation was planned for this coming Saturday, however Lilli has decided to move it to the following day combining it with our Rotary picnic And so I am hoping that all our regular Cuppa attendees can join the picnic. I will be there with the club marquee.

Our clubโ€™s Community Services Committee met last night at the Seven Stars Hotel and everyone is welcome to attend future meetings.  Most attendees purchase a meal and a drink.

For those interested in Rotary SA, District 9510 AGM is to be held on 16th November at 10am by zoom. Please let me know and I can provide more details.

 Regards
 Rob

The Four Way Test

The Four Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do:

  1. Is it the Truth?
  2. Is it Fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build Goodwill and better Friendships?
  4. Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

Affirmation

United in the spirit of Service we value truth, fairness and friendship; and we welcome the opportunity that Rotary gives us to contribute our talents and resources in support of others.

Rotary Club of Adelaide Light Mission Statement

To have fun and engage interest from new members and friends as we use our strengths for a better world here and abroad - a welcoming, flexible group having fun doing hands-on activities for positive impact.

Jokes Corner
A businessman, on his deathbed, called his friend and said, "Bill, I want you to promise me that when I die, you will have my remains cremated."

"And what," his friend asked, "do you want me to do with your ashes?"

The businessman said, "Just put them in an envelope and mail them to the Internal Revenue Service. Write on the envelope, 'Now, you have everything.'"
