Bookings opened: Update re RCG1 “Building a Safer Future – Together” dinner on Tuesday, 24 February 2025 at the Skyline Restaurant at Rydges Adelaide, 1 South Terrace, Adelaide. The Rotary Metropolitan Adelaide Clubs Community Group Dinner’s major guest speakers will be Ms Mary Leaker, CEO of Embolden, and the Hon Katrine Hildyard, Minister for Domestic, Family & Sexual Violence. It is also requested that guests bring a non-perishable item to support our “Shop & Share” project (these donations will be provided to domestic violence services in April). Adding to the ambience, the beautiful voices of the Adelaide City Choir, led by Rotarian Jyoti Singh, will perform. Master of Ceremonies will be Greg Knagge. (Both Jyoti and Greg are members of the Adelaide Rotary Club.) DG Rajeev Kamineni will also be in attendance. Join fellow Rotarians and Rotaractors from your Rotary Community Group and beyond as we come together to strengthen our clubs' initiatives and practical actions already underway to end domestic and family violence. Book your tickets prior to 10 February so that we can confirm numbers at the Restaurant. Book at Rotary Metropolitan Adelaide Clubs Community Group Dinner (RCA #5087)-Lunches & Dinners, cost $60pp. Please also let me know if you will be coming, thanks.

The Four Way Test

The Four Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do:

  1. Is it the Truth?
  2. Is it Fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build Goodwill and better Friendships?
  4. Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

Affirmation

United in the spirit of Service we value truth, fairness and friendship; and we welcome the opportunity that Rotary gives us to contribute our talents and resources in support of others.

Rotary Club of Adelaide Light Mission Statement

To have fun and engage interest from new members and friends as we use our strengths for a better world here and abroad - a welcoming, flexible group having fun doing hands-on activities for positive impact.

Jokes Corner
“And this over here” croaked the 90 year old museum tour guide, “is a fossil 2 million and 69 years old, and on it’s left you can see another fossil that’s 2 million and 69 years old.”

“Wow! That’s really fascinating,” said a fellow in the audience, “how can you age it so accurately to the year?”

“Well that’s simple” answered the old chap, “they were two million years old when I started working here 69 years ago.”
