Vale Don Tindale – Don’s funeral will be held on Monday 16 March 2026 at 10.00am at White Lady Funerals, 290 Greenhill Road, Glenside. Family and friends are invited to attend to celebrate his life and achievements.
During the week, our Board decided to donate $1000 to the D9510 Drought Project’s Rotary Pioneer Adventure Day to be held on Sunday 3 May. The event is being promoted as run by “The Rotary Club of South Australia” as a whole plus it adds in donations from Alice Springs and the Riverina. The event will be held at the Old Tailem Town Pioneer Village (Princess Highway, Tailem Bend) and will support and sponsor farming families who have been “doing if tough!”.
Driven by the Rotary Clubs of Adelaide Central and Murray Bridge, farming a rural families who have not left their farms/shops in a long time, who are surviving on one meal a day, struggling to feed their animals, can’t afford to turn on their air conditioners in hot weather, and those who haven’t been able to see doctors or health specialists in years. Each family will get around $70 for fuel to the event and back, free entry to Old Tailem Town, food vouchers, free entertainment, maybe a haircut, and free health checks. A worthy project, and it will be helped along with Rob McLennan being the Master of Ceremonies on the day.

On Monday 9 March (Adelaide Cup Day holiday), our Club did an outstanding job of staffing the Bunnings BBQ at Mile End on a beautifully sunny day – and with line-ups so long that we sold out just after the third shift took over at 2pm. The photo shows the 2nd and 3rd Shifts. Shift One sold 6 packets of snags, the 2nd Shift sold 20 packets – a prodigious amount! Third Shift only had two packets to cook and serve before packing up at the end the day. Our thanks to Rob for organising everything and to volunteers: Paul J and Alison, Rob, Di Di, Yvette, Di, Elaine, Barry (Di’s cousin), Maria (Cuppa Conversations), Angus, Ian & son Max, and Fatemeh.
This coming Thursday is breakfast at the South Terrace Croquet Club from 7.00am.
Best wishes and have a great week. Yvette, President.
