Apologies for the late arrival of this newsletter.

Last Thursday and this Thursday (today) were Coffee Catch-ups – and lots of topics and info were raised by the attendees. However, these winter months are often when Rotarians are fleeing to warmer climates in Australia and overseas, so members’ attendance numbers have been reduced.

Next Thursday morning our meeting is at 7.00am for breakfast at the South Terrace Croquet Club. Don’t forget to let Rob know your preferences for croissants. Rob will be fulfilling the role of Acting President while I’m on holidays in France and Switzerland for a short time attending my nephew’s wedding.

Our Club farewells to Past President Julie and Past District Governor John Campbell who resigned their membership on 30 June 2025 after many years as members. Many thanks for your years of service to our Rotary Club and participating in your District roles, John, as District Governor in 2014-15 and several years on the Australian Rotary Health Board of Directors – to name just a few. Our newer members may not have met Julie and John as they haven’t attended many Club meetings or events over the past three years.

Best wishes and have a great week. Yvette, President

The Four Way Test

The Four Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do:

  1. Is it the Truth?
  2. Is it Fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build Goodwill and better Friendships?
  4. Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

Affirmation

United in the spirit of Service we value truth, fairness and friendship; and we welcome the opportunity that Rotary gives us to contribute our talents and resources in support of others.

Rotary Club of Adelaide Light Mission Statement

To have fun and engage interest from new members and friends as we use our strengths for a better world here and abroad - a welcoming, flexible group having fun doing hands-on activities for positive impact.

Jokes Corner
A minister parked his car in a no-parking zone in a large city because he was short of time and couldn't find a space with a meter.

Then he put a note under the windshield wiper that read: "I have circled the block 10 times. If I don't park here, I'll miss my appointment. Forgive us our trespasses."

When he returned, he found a citation from a police officer along with this note "I've circled this block for 10 years. If I don't give you a ticket I'll lose my job. Lead us not into temptation."
