Our guest speaker at this coming Thursday's dinner meeting will be Valeria Anaya from EmergencyRedi which undertakes workshops to support communities to complete a REDI-plan to cope with disaster situations ie earthquakes, storm events, fires and other emergency crises. This should be a very entertaining talk.
Don’t forget that this coming Saturday 1 March from 10am is Cuppa Conversation at the Botanic Gardens (it will be a picnic event, so bring your own picnic rug or seat, drinks and favourite food, hat, sunscreen etc). The venue chosen by Lili is just a few hundred metres inside from the main North Terrace gate. Lili has placed a pin in our WhatsApp notification to show you where to meet. Invite your family and friends to this great venue. (You are still able to park your car along the Botanic Park’s carparking road, but it’ll be a slightly longer walk past our usual café to the site chosen on the southerly end of the Gardens.) Let Lili know if you are coming by responding through the WhatsApp Cuppa Conversation site.
This is EARLY NOTIFICATION that our breakfast meeting in March (usually second Thursday - 13 March) will be delayed one week as the Croquet Club will be hosting a major croquet tournament on that day. So, 13 March will now become a Coffee Catchup at the White Picket and 20 March will be the Thursday breakfast – for this month only.
I hope to see you this coming Thursday at our dinner meeting from 6pm at the Kent Town Hotel.
Best wishes and have a great week. Yvette, President.

Bring your favourite food, drinks, and a picnic rug! (sunscreen and insect repellent too). Let’s enjoy the beautiful weather, great company, and relaxing time outdoors.
Feel free to invite friends and family.
Please send me a message if you are coming. Hope to see you there!

A doctor and a lawyer were talking at a party. Their conversation was constantly interrupted by people describing their ailments and asking the doctor for free medical advice.
After an hour of this, the exasperated doctor asked the lawyer, "What do you do to stop people from asking you for legal advice when you're out of the office?"
"I give it to them," replied the lawyer, "and then I send them a bill."
The doctor was shocked, but agreed to give it a try.
The next day, still feeling slightly guilty, the doctor prepared the bills and went to place them in the mailbox. While he was there he checked his own mailbox and found a bill from the lawyer.
